About Us

Industrial Press, an industry leader since 1883.

Industrial Press, Inc., publishes essential resources for the machining community and related manufacturing industries, offering a diverse list of titles for students, practitioners, and seasoned professionals. From metalworking and welding, machine tooling, engineering math to maintenance and reliability, supply chain and inventory management, and construction and design, our works contain vital information on the latest technologies, tools, materials, and processes.

2020 began with the launch of the 31st Edition of the legendary Machinery’s Handbook and its related product family. The 31st edition contains thousands of revisions, including new and updated text, tables, equations, and figures, as well as extensive updates in ASME, ANSI, and other standards material. The value-added Machinery’s Handbook 31 Digital Edition (which replaces our previous CD-ROM products)—encompassing the complete Handbook, hundreds of extra pages, added contents, indexes, and the latest version of the Guide—can be used not only on a PC running Windows but also on a Mac, iPad, iPhone, or Android device.

Attractive combination packages, including printed Toolbox and Large Print books along with the Digital Edition or with the specialized Calc Pro 2 calculators are flying off the shelf. This year, we also are offering a popular new combination package, including the classic and pocket-sized Pipefitters Handbook, Third Edition,  and a Pipe Trades Pro™ calculator.

In recent years, we have added a number of key titles focusing on helping readers pass critical exams in their fields. Getting certified can lead to many improvements: a higher position at work, an increase in salary, a way to round out a resume to apply for a different job, or even  fulfillment of a lifelong dream.  And with top-notch resources in the areas of plumbing, welding, piping, and maintenance & reliability, Industrial Press offers invaluable references for a wide range of certifications. For those who may be past the certification stage, we have RCM3: Risk-Based Reliability Centered Maintenance, as well as groundbreaking titles for those in the field of supply chain management.

Our technical and reference titles preserve and expand legacy topics. Importantly, they remain abreast of the latest technology, including CNC programming, computer-aided-design (CAD), computer-aided-manufacturing (CAM), and programmable controls. The machines, their management, and supporting infrastructure of contemporary manufacturing science is well covered.

We continuously add valuable titles distinguished by pragmatic content. Industrial Press seeks new book proposals from subject-matter experts who are prepared to offer a strong, well-articulated message. Our blue-chip editorial team works in partnership with authors to ensure success.

Founded in 1883, IP’s singular mission continues to be the acquisition, development and sustained publication of technical books and references that strive for success in industrial education as they aid pragmatic day-day operations across all manufacturing disciplines. Our books enjoy broad popularity in trade schools and college classrooms as well as on factory and shop floors around the world.
